Privacy Policy

QR Studio stores the QR codes you create, plus the minimum account information needed to sync them across your devices. We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.

Information we collect

• Account details (email, display name, and photo URL) when you sign in.
• Your content: the QR code content, design settings, folders, and tags that you create.
• Anonymous scan analytics for dynamic codes you own: the time of each scan, the visitor's country, and device family (for example "iOS" or "Android"). We never store the raw IP address of a scanner. To count unique visitors we use a one-way hash of the IP and browser, so individual scanners cannot be re-identified.
• Crash and performance data, collected only after you accept the in-app privacy prompt.
• Website analytics. This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It sets cookies and records the pages you view, the site or search that sent you here, your approximate location, and your browser and device type. Your IP address is used to work out that approximate location and is not available to us. This applies to the website only: the QR Studio app does not contain Google Analytics.

How we use it

• To sync your codes between your devices.
• To show you scan analytics for your dynamic codes.
• To process subscription purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
• To diagnose crashes and improve reliability, only after you opt in.
• To see which pages on this website are read, as visitor totals rather than individuals.

How your content is processed

When you use the AI design feature, the text prompt you type is sent to our AI provider to generate a design. We do not send your account identity with it, and prompts are not used to advertise to you. Everything else you create stays in your account.

Sharing

We use Firebase (Google Cloud) for authentication, storage, and crash reporting, and Google Analytics for website visitor statistics. Subscription processing is handled by RevenueCat together with the Apple App Store and Google Play. We do not share your personal information with advertisers, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

Data retention and your rights

You can sign out, delete individual codes, or delete your entire account from the Settings screen in the app. Deleting your account removes all of your codes, folders, and analytics within 30 days. To request a copy of your data or ask a question about it, email privacy@redmoonsoftware.com.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. Access to production data is restricted to the people who operate the service.

Children

QR Studio is not directed to children under 13. If we discover an account belonging to someone under 13, we delete it.

International users

QR Studio is operated from New Zealand and uses Google Cloud data centres. By using the app you understand that your data may be processed in countries other than your own.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will prompt you in the app before you continue, and we will update the date at the top of this page.
